Q (magasin)

Q varr et britisk musikkmagasin som kom ut en gang i måneden. Det ble startet av Mark Ellen og David Hepworth i 1986 med inspirasjon fra Rolling Stone og med undertittelen «The modern guide to music and more». Den siste utgaven av Q kom ut i juli 2020. Magasinet inneholdt en stor anmeldelsesdel der det vurderte nye musikkutgivelser, gjenutgivelser, samleplater og konserter. Det anmeldte også film, radio og TV.

Opprinnelig hadde en tenkt å kalle bladet Cue, som viser til å sette i gang en plate, men siden ordet også kunne vise til en biljardkø, og lett kunne forveksles med et blad om dette spillet, valgte en i stedet å bruke bokstaven Q som tittel. Denne bokstaven er på engelsk homofon med cue. Bokstaven alene hadde også den fordelen at den skilte seg ut fra andre tidsskrift i bladhylla.
