Colin Mackerras (valgt kinesisk navn: 马克林; pinyin: Mǎ Kèlín; født 26. august 1939 i Sydney i Australia) er en australsk sinolog og spesialist på kinesisk kultur, fremfor alt drama, kinesiske etniske minoriteter, australsk-kinesiske relasjoner og kinabilder i Vesten.

Mackerras fikk en katolsk oppdragelse. Han studerte ved University of Cambridge og kom i 1964 med sin hustru første gang til Kina og underviste til 1966 ved fremmedspråkinstituttet (nå Beijings fremmedspråksuniversitet) i Beijing. De opplevde der begynnelsen av kulturrevolusjonen i byen.

I 1970 fikk han sin ph.d. i avdelingen for Det fjerne østens historie ved Australian National University. Mackerras er professor emeritus ved Griffith University i Brisbane i Queensland.

Dirigenten Charles Mackerras er en av hans brødre.
